I've been to Merida four or five times, but just stayed in hotels and took day trips out from there, so I don't know the real estate areas. The one thing I remember most about Merida was how loud the buses were. So you want to at minimum be at least two block away from a bus line.
If you don't get any better answers here, try your question again over a Trip Advisors--they seem to have a few more knowledgeable people.

I have tryed online to find registered birth certificate for city merida yucatan mexico with no joy.Is there anyone out there that can help me
There are no Online options available to get a Birth Certificate. However there are several electronic booths located through the Yucatan peninsula that provide that service. If you are not close to the area, your only other option is to have a friend or a lawyer get a copy for you.
sorry and good luckAre there any Bookstores in Merida, Yucatan Mexico? I have a friend who moved to Merida Mexico last summer. She misses the bookstores here, but not sure if there are any nearby. Does anyone know of a bookstore in that area?
Thanks,
Lisa
yes, of course I know people in Mexico read, but the area she lives in is one of the more poorer areas. That's why I was asking if there were any nearby as she doesn't know all the shops just yet.
She wants to be able to get something closer by without having to travel to Mexico City if possible. Plus, she just needed to know the names. She can't go to the stores if she has no storename to search the address on.
There is a very nice bookstore named "Dante". This store can be found everywhere in Merida... They have about three or four in the downtown area. They have one or two in each mall (depending on the size of the mall). They even have one Dante bookstore in the ruins (in each one of the sites). But they have a very big Dante store in Prolongacion Montejo St and it has a good variation of books (some are in English). Good luck.Cheap AirFare From Chicago to Merida, Yucatan Mexico? Does anyone know where i can find a cheap ticket from Chicago to Merida, Mexico.
I'm planning on going from the 13th to the 23rd of March
Priceline was my best option, they had the tickets for $466 for a while, and i didnt buy the tickets thinking that the prices might drop. But to my horrible luck, now they are like almost 800. Anyone can help me out?? My budget it from $400-490. Do you think i still got a chance for priceline to drop again? thanks!

Flights to Merida generally go up in price as the day gets closer because the plane gets more full. Merida is not like other places as far as airfare goes. There are only a few airlines that fly there from the States so there is not a lot of competition so airlines are not forced to drop prices.
If you can't find something to Merida consider Cancun and take the bus over. It will make for a long travel day but it may be cheaper.
